AKW Option HF Full Height Shower Screen Set for Shower Trays – Choice of Width & Handing

AKW Option HF Full Height Shower Screen Set for Shower Trays – Choice of Width & Handing

The AKW Option HF is a full height shower screen set made for shower trays. At about 1.9 metres tall it gives the full splash protection and privacy of a standard enclosure, while keeping the practical AKW care features – an easy-to-open door, robust fittings and shatterproof panels – that make it suitable for accessible and assisted bathrooms.

Each set comes with a white frame with frosted, shatterproof PET panels. Option HF screens one open side of the showering area; sizes are given as the screen width. It is offered in 11 sizes, 1870mm or 1880mm high. An L-shaped curtain rail and white curtain are included as standard, giving extra privacy and water control.

Key features & benefits

• Full height screen (1870–1880mm) for maximum splash protection and privacy
• Shatterproof PET panels – safer than glass in a care setting (frosted for privacy)
• Stronger magnetic strip and high quality water seals to reduce water escaping
• Robust frame and heavy-duty fittings built for daily use
• Smooth modern latch and D handle, with hinges that let the door open inwards and outwards
• Locking rising-butt two-way hinges; hinges and caps made from hard-wearing Nylon 6
• L-shaped curtain rail and white curtain supplied as standard
• Drop rods 600mm long where supplied
• Designed for shower trays – for level wet floors choose the matching wet floor version

How to choose the right size

• Measure the shower tray: choose the width that matches the open side you want to screen.
• Height: this is set by the width – 1880mm for the 600, 700, 800, 900 and 1000mm widths, and 1870mm for the 650, 750, 850, 950 and 1050mm widths.
• Handing: the 600–1000mm widths are non-handed. The 650–1050mm widths come non-handed or in left hand and right hand versions to suit the layout of your tray and room – check the handing as seen from outside the shower, and call us before ordering if you are unsure.
• Widths of 650, 750, 850, 950 and 1050mm are only suitable for AKW Multi Spec / Pipe Duct trays.
• A 600mm version with a straight curtain rail (code 91387N) is also available.
• Who it suits: wheelchair users, people who need help to shower, care homes, hospitals and any home being adapted for later life.

Installation notes

AKW recommends using its screens only with AKW trays and formers, as other makes can compromise the water seals. Power showers should not be used with AKW trays and screens. The bottom door seals are water barriers rather than fully waterproof seals, so if you use a shower curtain make sure it is long enough to protect them. Installation should be carried out by a competent fitter.
