AKW Wet Room Threshold Kit – Straight or L Shaped, Choice of Size

The AKW wet room threshold kit creates a clearly defined showering area on a wet room floor and helps keep the water where it belongs. The low aluminium threshold strips are screwed down onto the finished wet floor and sealed with silicone, giving a gentle edge that doubles as a safety ramp – easy to roll a wheelchair or shower chair over, but enough to hold the water back.

Choose a 2000mm straight kit or an L shaped kit sized to match the common AKW wet floor former sizes, from 900 x 900mm up to 1500 x 820mm. Rectangular L shaped kits come in left or right hand.

Choosing the right kit

Straight kit: use the 2000mm straight kit across the open front of an alcove shower area.

L shaped kit: use an L shaped kit for a corner shower area open on two sides. Pick the size that matches your former or showering area.

Left or right hand: square L shaped kits are non-handed. For rectangular kits, stand outside the shower looking in – choose the hand that matches the long side of your shower area. If in doubt, call 0333 772 4162 with a sketch of the room.

Installation notes

• Fit after the safety flooring or tiles have been laid – the strips are screwed to the finished floor.
• Seal underneath and at all joints with a good-quality sanitary silicone.
• Make sure the threshold is inside the fall of the former so water drains back to the waste.
