AKW Window Spanning Kit for Shower Curtains – Choice of Kit & Colour
The AKW window spanning kit solves one of the trickiest curtain rail jobs: a shower or bath that sits beneath or beside a window. Special wall brackets hold a straight curtain track across the window reveal, so a curtain can be drawn to protect the window and frame from splashes without fixing into the glazing.
The kit is robust and easy to fit. Choose the standard white kit, the Silverdale kit to match AKW Silverdale screens, or the Larenco kit supplied with an 1800 x 1400mm shower curtain. Replacement straight rails with fittings are also available.
Key features & benefits
- Spans a window reveal so a curtain can be used where a standard rail cannot be fixed
- Two special wall brackets and a length of track for the curtain
- The 1.5m track can be trimmed to suit the window
- White or Silverdale finish
- Larenco version supplied with an 1800 x 1400mm shower curtain
- Replacement straight rails with fittings available
Who is it for?
Window spanning kits are popular in adapted bathrooms, care homes and older properties where a shower over the bath or a level-access shower has been fitted in front of a window. For other spaces see the AKW L shaped shower curtain rail, AKW U shaped shower curtain rail and our straight rails. Curtains are available separately – see AKW white shower curtains.
Installation notes
Measure the inside width of the window reveal and trim the track to fit. Fix the two brackets securely to the masonry either side of the window. Allow clearance so window handles and openers are not blocked by the curtain.
