Sold by the box – 50 tiles per box, covering around 0.45m². Each 38x235mm tile is 0.009m², so a box works out at roughly £84.44 per m² (£0.76 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

A deep sapphire blue finger tile with a crackle gloss glaze. Each 38x235mm stick is glazed with a fine network of cracks beneath a high gloss, so the blue shifts in tone across the surface and catches light differently from piece to piece. It has the look of a hand-glazed artisan tile.

Finger tiles are usually laid vertically, stacked in neat columns so the narrow joints form fine lines, though they also work horizontally or in a herringbone. The format suits a basin splashback, a shower niche, a kitchen upstand or a full feature wall. Wall use only.

The tile is ceramic and glazed, so it wipes clean and copes with splashes. The crackle is part of the glaze and is meant to vary. A box holds 50 tiles and covers 0.45 square metres, so count up the boxes carefully for the area you have.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 0.45 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Walls only; not for floors. Use a flexible wall adhesive spread thinly with a fine-notched trowel so it does not squeeze through the narrow joints. A 1-2mm joint is usual. Crackle glazes can absorb grout pigment, so test a tile first and seal the glaze if advised before grouting with a pale grout. Mix tiles from several boxes.
