Sold by the box – 6 tiles per box, covering around 1.44m². Each 200x1200mm tile is 0.24m², so a box works out at roughly £46.04 per m² (£11.05 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

A rich warm brown wood-effect plank with a natural matt surface. The grain is printed from real timber, and with thirty different patterns in the colour no two planks in a box look the same, so the floor has the irregularity of real boards.

Each plank measures 200x1200mm and a box of six covers 1.44m². Lay them in a random staggered bond like floorboards, or in a herringbone for a more formal floor. The manufacturer's specification lists the tile for floors; its product name describes it as a floor and wall tile.

Porcelain gives the look of dark timber without the upkeep. It is water-resistant, so it suits bathrooms, kitchens and conservatories as well as hallways and living areas. The manufacturer rates it for residential and light commercial use.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.44 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Stagger the planks by no more than a third of their length rather than a half, as long tiles can bow slightly and a half-bond shows lippage. Bed each plank fully on a flexible porcelain adhesive, back-buttered. Use a 2-3mm joint with a brown grout. Mix planks from several boxes to spread the grain patterns.
