Carron Arc Double Ended Bath – White Gloss (All Sizes)

The Carron Arc Double Ended has a softly rounded, oval bathing well set into a rectangular rim. Both ends are shaped to lie back against and the waste sits in the middle, so you can bathe facing whichever way suits the room – or share it. It comes in two sizes, 1700 x 750mm and a larger 1800 x 800mm.

Both sizes come in two finishes: Carron's standard 5mm acrylic, with a 30-year warranty, or Carronite, Carron's reinforced finish, with a 40-year warranty. Both are made in Britain by Carron, whose manufacturing history goes back to 1759.

5mm acrylic or Carronite?

Each size is the same shape in either finish. Carronite is the one to choose if you want the extra rigidity – useful if the bath will double as a shower – and a bath that stays warm for longer.

Choose your size

Both sizes are made about 10mm under their nominal length and width, so they drop into a standard recess with a little room to spare. Both sit at 540mm to the rim.

Panels are sold separately, in standard and Carronite finishes:

Codes are shown as standard / Carronite. You only need the end panel if one end of the bath is open, as in a corner layout; a bath fitted into an alcove between two walls needs the front panel alone.

Before you order

• Measure the recess at the back, the middle and the front. Walls are rarely square, and the bath has to fit the narrowest measurement.
• Check the width as well as the length. At 745 or 795mm these are wider than a standard 700mm bath, so check against doors, radiators and window sills.
• Check the route in. Up to 1790 x 795mm, the bath has to pass through doorways, round landings and up the stairs – measure any tight turn before delivery day.
• Taps, waste and panels are sold separately. A double ended bath needs its taps at the side or wall-mounted rather than at one end.
• Think about the floor and your hot water. Full to capacity these hold 190 or 210kg of water before anyone gets in, and a bath this size takes more hot water to fill than a standard one.

Fitting tips

Install the bath with Carron's installation kit, levelled so the rim sits at 540mm – the height its panels are made to. Fill the bath with water before running the silicone seal along the walls, so the joint cures with the bath at its heaviest and won't pull away the first time someone gets in.
