Del Mar Grey Anti-Slip is the gripped version of the weathered grey plank. The silvered, aged-timber colour and darker grain are unchanged; a fine surface texture adds traction for wet floors and outdoor use. It looks like old decking without the maintenance.

Eight 202x802mm planks fill a box and cover 1.30m². Lay them in a staggered run for a boardwalk effect or in straight rows for a cleaner look. The colour matches the indoor matt grey, so a floor can continue from a living room onto a terrace.

Porcelain shrugs off frost, rain and sun and never needs sealing or staining. The manufacturer lists the plank for walls and floors and makes this anti-slip finish for external use. Grey hides dirt well between cleans, which is a bonus outdoors.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.30 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Outdoors, bed every plank fully in a flexible, frost-resistant porcelain adhesive over a solid base laid to a fall, with 3-5mm joints and an exterior grout. Indoors, use a flexible porcelain adhesive on a flat floor with 2-3mm joints. Offset joints by a third and mix boxes.
