Bright white with soft grey veining and a matt surface, this 270x420mm ceramic gives a bathroom wall a clean marble look without any shine. It keeps a small room feeling light and goes with any colour of floor, from grey slate-effect porcelain to warm wood.

Nine tiles to the box, covering 1.02m². The size suits full bathroom walls, shower areas and kitchen splashbacks, laid in a brick bond, a straight stack or vertically to add height. For a bit of contrast, the gloss calacatta white tile from the range can be used as a feature band.

It is a glazed ceramic wall tile, for indoor use only. It is light, easy to cut and simple to keep clean, and the matt glaze hides water spots and smears better than a polished tile. Veining varies from tile to tile, so lay from several boxes for an even spread.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.02 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Fix with a standard ceramic wall adhesive on a flat, dry background, using a 6mm notched trowel. A 2 to 3mm joint with a white or very pale grey grout keeps the wall uniform. Set out from the centre of the main wall and blend tiles from mixed boxes as you work.
