Sand is the warm version of the Galveston cement floor. The tone sits between beige and pale grey, with the gentle clouding of a screeded floor across each 600x900mm face, and the matt surface keeps it soft. It brings warmth to a room without reading as a colour.

Large format with few joints: three tiles cover 1.62m² per box, so a kitchen-diner or a long hallway goes down with only a handful of grout lines. Lay it in straight rows for a slab look or in a third-offset bond. A sand-coloured grout keeps the surface continuous.

Porcelain, for indoor floors in bathrooms, kitchens, conservatories, hallways and living rooms. The matching sand 20mm paving slab in the Galveston range takes the same colour out onto a patio, so inside and outside can share one floor.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.62 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Lay on a flat, level base with a flexible cementitious adhesive on both the floor and the back of the tile, so the large format has no voids beneath it. Keep 2 to 3mm joints, limit any brick-bond offset to a third and grout with a flexible grout. Work from several boxes to blend the tone.
