Kartell K-VIT Echo 700 x 500mm LED Mirror Cabinet (MIR107)

Kartell K-VIT Echo 700 x 500mm LED Mirror Cabinet (MIR107)

A mirrored bathroom cabinet with LED lighting, a demister, a charging socket and two glass shelves — storage and a lit mirror in one unit.

The Light

Echo is lit by a continuous illuminated border running the full perimeter of the door, giving an even frame of light around the whole mirror. It is the softest and most enveloping of the five Kartell cabinet designs.

What Makes a Cabinet Worth the Extra

A plain LED mirror gives you light. This gives you light and somewhere to put things — and in most bathrooms the second matters more.

• Two glass shelves inside, so the toothpaste, razors and medicines live behind the door rather than on the basin.
• A double sided mirror door — mirrored inside as well as out, so you can still see yourself with the door open. Most cabinets have a bare white interior, and this is the detail you notice daily.
• A charging socket for a shaver or electric toothbrush, which solves a real problem: bathroom sockets are restricted by the wiring regulations, so the alternative is usually a cable trailing to the windowsill.

Three Tone Ambient Lighting and Demister

The light switches between cool, neutral and warm white — cool for shaving or applying makeup where you need accuracy, warm for early mornings and late evenings. A heated anti-fog demister pad keeps the mirror clear after a shower.

Installation

This cabinet requires an electrical connection and should be installed by a qualified electrician. At nearly 14kg before you put anything in it, it also needs a solid wall or proper noggins behind plasterboard.

The Other Four Designs

Kartell make five cabinets at this size and price, identical in every respect except the shape of the lit area: Spectrum has two vertical strips, Fine a slim outline, Link a bolder squared outline, and Frame a rounded border. Choose on looks — there is nothing else between them.
