The Kartell K-VIT Essential 420mm Countertop Basin is a crisp rectangular bowl that sits on top of a worktop or vanity unit rather than being recessed into it. Straight sides, a slim rim and a flat base — it reads as a deliberate object rather than a fitting.

At 420mm it is the most compact of the three Essential basins, which makes it a sensible choice for a cloakroom or a narrow vanity where the 500mm or 600mm would overhang.

What Else You Will Need

• A surface to sit on — an existing worktop, or one of the Kartell solid surface worktops, which pair with the 500mm and 600mm Atlantis, Dove, Urban, Sanctuary, Moon, City and Purity vanity units.
• A taller tap. This basin has a single central tap hole, so it takes a countertop basin mixer with enough height to clear the bowl. A standard short basin mixer will sit too low.

Tap and waste are not included and are sold separately.

All three Essential basins share the same rectangular profile and single tap hole — the choice is simply width: 420mm for a compact vanity, 500mm for a standard one, or 600mm for a wide worktop or where two people share the space.
