The Kartell K-VIT Essential 500mm Countertop Basin is a crisp rectangular bowl that sits on top of a worktop or vanity unit rather than being recessed into it. Straight sides, a slim rim and a flat base give it a clean, architectural look.

At 500mm it is the middle size and the most widely useful — it suits a standard 500mm or 600mm vanity unit without crowding the worktop.

What Else You Will Need

• A surface to sit on — an existing worktop, or one of the Kartell solid surface worktops, which pair with the 500mm and 600mm Atlantis, Dove, Urban, Sanctuary, Moon, City and Purity vanity units.
• A taller tap. This basin has a single central tap hole, so it takes a countertop basin mixer with enough height to clear the bowl.
