The Kartell K-VIT Island 400mm Countertop Basin is a softly rounded oval bowl that sits on top of a worktop or vanity unit. Where the Essential basins are crisp and rectangular, the Island is the gentler shape — no hard corners, and a thin rim that gives it a light, almost floating look.

At 400mm it is the most compact of the three Island basins, suiting a cloakroom or a narrow vanity.

Important — This Basin Has No Tap Hole

The Island basins have no tap hole, so the tap cannot be mounted on the basin itself. You will need either:

• a wall-mounted basin mixer, plumbed through the wall behind, or
• a tall deck-mounted basin mixer fitted into the worktop alongside the basin, with enough height to clear the rim.

A standard basin mixer intended to sit on the basin will not work. Worth settling the tap before ordering, as a wall-mounted mixer affects the plumbing behind the wall.

A surface to sit on — an existing worktop, or one of the Kartell solid surface worktops, which pair with the 500mm and 600mm Atlantis, Dove, Urban, Sanctuary, Moon, City and Purity vanity units.
