The Kartell K-VIT Island 600mm Countertop Basin is the largest of the three Island basins — a long oval bowl with a thin rim and no hard corners, sitting on top of a worktop or vanity unit.

The extra width gives a generous wash area and makes the basin a genuine feature of the room. It suits a main bathroom or a wide en suite vanity.

Important — This Basin Has No Tap Hole

The Island basins have no tap hole, so the tap cannot be mounted on the basin itself. You will need either a wall-mounted basin mixer plumbed through the wall behind, or a tall deck-mounted basin mixer fitted into the worktop alongside with enough height to clear the rim.

A standard basin mixer intended to sit on the basin will not work. Worth settling the tap before ordering, as a wall-mounted mixer affects the plumbing behind the wall.

What Else You Will Need

A surface to sit on — an existing worktop, or one of the Kartell solid surface worktops, which pair with the 500mm and 600mm Atlantis, Dove, Urban, Sanctuary, Moon, City and Purity vanity units. For a 600mm basin, check the worktop is wide enough to leave a margin either side.
