The Kartell K-VIT Karlo Square Countertop Basin is a softly squared bowl that sits on top of a worktop or vanity unit rather than being recessed into it — the basin becomes a feature of the room rather than something built in and forgotten.

At 500mm wide and 400mm deep it is the more generous of the two Karlo basins, and the rounded-square shape is a good middle ground if a circular bowl feels too soft and a sharp rectangle too severe.

What Else You Will Need

A countertop basin needs two things a standard basin does not:

• A surface to sit on — either an existing worktop or one of the Kartell solid surface worktops, which pair with the 500mm and 600mm Atlantis, Dove, Urban, Sanctuary, Moon, City and Purity vanity units.
• A taller tap. This basin has a single central tap hole, so it takes a countertop basin mixer with enough height to clear the 130mm bowl. A standard short basin mixer will sit too low.

Tap and waste are not included and are sold separately.

Round or Square?

The Karlo 460mm Round is the deeper bowl at 155mm and takes up less width. This 500mm square gives more usable area and a more architectural look. Both take a single central tap.
