Kartell K-VIT Spectrum 700 x 500mm LED Mirror Cabinet (MIR102)

Kartell K-VIT Spectrum 700 x 500mm LED Mirror Cabinet (MIR102)

A mirrored bathroom cabinet with LED lighting, a demister, a charging socket and two glass shelves — storage and a lit mirror in one unit.

The Light

Spectrum is the most distinctive of the five. Rather than a border, it is lit by two vertical strips set into the door, one either side of your reflection.

That arrangement is the one professional makeup mirrors use, and for good reason: light from both sides at face height lights your face evenly and kills the shadows under the eyes and chin that overhead lighting creates. If the mirror is mainly for shaving or makeup rather than a quick glance, this is the one to look at.

What Makes a Cabinet Worth the Extra

• Two glass shelves inside, so the toothpaste, razors and medicines live behind the door rather than on the basin.
• A double sided mirror door — mirrored inside as well as out, so you can still see yourself with the door open.
• A charging socket for a shaver or electric toothbrush. Bathroom sockets are restricted by the wiring regulations, so the alternative is usually a cable trailing to the windowsill.

Three Tone Ambient Lighting and Demister

The light switches between cool, neutral and warm white — cool for accuracy, warm for early mornings and late evenings. A heated anti-fog demister pad keeps the mirror clear after a shower.

The Other Four Designs
