Kartell K-VIT Tampa Towel Rail – Anthracite (All Sizes)

Tampa is a designer towel rail from Kartell in matt anthracite. Each bar is a flat, open loop 70mm high with rounded ends, carried on two 35mm square uprights. The bars are set in groups – 8 bars on the 850mm and 11 on the 1200mm – with 150mm open gaps between the groups where folded towels can hang. The bold, chunky bars make it a feature piece rather than a background radiator.

Matt anthracite is a deep charcoal grey that suits modern bathrooms, and looks especially striking against pale walls, timber or concrete-effect finishes.

Both sizes are 500mm wide – choose the height from the dropdown.

Choosing a size

The 850mm version suits a cloakroom, en-suite or a shorter wall; the taller 1200mm gives more hanging space and close to 40% more heat.

If the towel rail will be the only heat in the room, check its output against what the room needs – a BTU calculator will give you a figure from the room's size, windows and outside walls. Kartell quote the output at Δt60, a standard test temperature. Many modern boilers, and especially heat pumps, run cooler than that, so the heat you actually get may be lower than the figure shown.

Fitting

Tampa is supplied with everything needed to fix it to the wall. Valves are sold separately – see our towel radiator valves.

The two pipe connections are underneath, 300mm apart on both sizes (the “tapping centres”). If you are replacing an existing towel rail, measure between your pipes first – if it does not match, the pipework will need adjusting. The rail itself is 102mm deep from the back of the uprights to the front of the bars. Make sure the wall can take the weight once the rail is full of water and towels: solid walls are straightforward, but stud and plasterboard walls need suitable heavy-duty fixings or a timber support behind the board.

Looking after the finish

Wipe over with a soft, damp cloth and dry. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach and strong bathroom cleaners, which can dull or mark a matt finish.
