Kartell K-VIT Venetian Towel Rail – Anthracite (All Sizes)

Venetian is a designer towel rail from Kartell with wide, gently curved bars that overlap slightly like the slats of a Venetian blind, giving a soft, sculpted look and a large warm surface for towels. The bars are set in groups with open gaps between them where folded towels can hang – 10 bars on the 850mm, 14 on the 1100mm and 19 on the 1500mm.

The matt anthracite finish is a deep charcoal grey that suits modern and industrial-style bathrooms and pairs well with black or chrome taps.

All three sizes are 500mm wide – choose the height from the dropdown.

Sizes and heat output

Choosing a size

The 850mm suits a cloakroom, en-suite or a shorter wall; the 1100mm is a good all-rounder for a family bathroom; and the tall 1500mm gives the most hanging space and nearly twice the heat of the smallest size. With outputs from 1943 to 3643 BTU, Venetian is one of the warmer towel rails in the Kartell range.

If it will be the only heat in the room, check its output against what the room needs – a BTU calculator will give you a figure from the room's size, windows and outside walls. Kartell quote the output at Δt60, a standard test temperature. Many modern boilers, and especially heat pumps, run cooler than that, so the heat you actually get may be lower than the figure shown.

Fitting

Venetian is supplied with everything needed to fix it to the wall. Valves are sold separately – see our towel radiator valves.

The pipe connections are at the bottom of each upright, 450mm apart on all three sizes (the “tapping centres”). If you are replacing an existing towel rail, measure between your pipes first – if the spacing does not match, the pipework will need adjusting.

Venetian stands 115–130mm out from the wall, with the pipe connections 60–75mm out from the wall, at the centre of each upright. Make sure the wall can take the weight once the rail is full of water and towels – the 1500mm weighs over 22kg empty: solid walls are straightforward, but stud and plasterboard walls need suitable heavy-duty fixings or a timber support behind the board.

Looking after the finish

Wipe over with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach and strong bathroom cleaners, which can dull or mark a matt finish.
