The Kartell K-VIT Klassique range is traditional styling done without fuss — crosshead handles on a rounded body, in polished chrome. This is a pair of bath pillar taps: two separate taps, one hot and one cold.

Pillar taps or a bath filler?

Pillar taps are the traditional arrangement — two separate taps, no mixing. You fill with both running and mix in the bath.

On a period bathroom, particularly a roll-top, they're the historically right choice and look considerably better than a modern single spout. Where convenience matters more, the Klassique bath filler delivers water already mixed from one spout.

Before you order

Check your bath has two tap holes at the correct centres. A bath drilled for a mixer usually has them closer together than a pillar pair needs.

Note the connection size. Kartell list these with 1/2" hoses, but bath taps are normally 3/4" — larger, so the bath fills faster. Check what your existing tails are before fitting, and budget for adaptors if they don't match.

The waste is sold separately.

Traditional look, modern mechanism

Ceramic disc cartridges rather than washers, so far less likely to drip than genuinely old pillar taps.

Water pressure

Suitable for low pressure systems, though on gravity-fed plumbing a bath will fill slowly whatever taps you fit.
