Description

The Kartell K-VIT Kolt range pairs a squared-off body with softly rounded edges. This is the bath shower mixer in matt black: a deck-mounted bath tap with a built-in diverter and a shower handset on a flexible hose.

What it does

It fills the bath like a normal bath filler, and the diverter sends water to the handset instead — so you can shower over the bath, rinse hair, or clean the bath itself without a separate shower installation.

If you already have a separate shower and only need to fill the bath, the Kolt bath filler costs less and looks tidier without the hose — which matters more on a black tap, where the hose is very visible.

Before you order

Bath taps use 3/4" BSP connections, larger than the 1/2" on basin taps.

The waste is sold separately — and you'll want a matching black one.

It needs only 0.2 bar to operate. Being straight about what that means: on gravity-fed plumbing the tap works, but the handset will be a gentle spray rather than a powerful one. That's your water pressure, not the tap. If you want a proper shower over the bath on low pressure, you need a pump.

Living with matt black

Matt black shows limescale and water spotting more than chrome, and a bath shower mixer gets splashed constantly. Wipe it dry after use. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth only — abrasives and limescale remover will dull the coating.

Matching the rest of the room

Kolt is made in matt black, polished chrome, brushed brass and brushed nickel. In black it pairs particularly well with a Krittal or Nero black-framed bath screen.
