Kartell K-VIT Nero Round Bath Filler – Matt Black (TAP412NR)

The Kartell K-VIT Nero Round range is a clean, round, minimal collection of brassware in matt black. This is the bath filler: a deck-mounted tap that sits on the rim of the bath and fills it, with no shower function.

Bath filler or bath shower mixer?

A bath filler (this one) just fills the bath. Choose it where you have a separate shower, or no shower over the bath at all. On a black tap the clean look matters more than usual — there's no hose trailing over the rim to break the line.

A bath shower mixer adds a diverter and a handset. If you need to shower over the bath, pick that instead — the two are otherwise the same tap.

Before you order

Bath fillers use 3/4" BSP connections — larger than the 1/2" used on basin taps — because a bath needs to fill in reasonable time. Check your existing tails, as swapping between sizes needs adaptors.

The waste is sold separately, and on a black bath tap you'll want a matching matt black bath waste and overflow rather than the chrome default. Kartell make one.

Suitable for low pressure systems, so it works on gravity-fed plumbing — though on low pressure any bath tap fills slowly. That's the system, not the tap.

Living with matt black

Against a white bath the black reads as a deliberate design choice. The trade-off is that matt black shows limescale and water spotting more than chrome, and a bath tap sits in the splash zone. Wipe it dry after use to keep it looking sharp.

Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth only. Never use abrasive cleaners or limescale remover — matt black is a coating rather than plating, and harsh chemicals will dull or strip it.

The same design in three finishes

Nero Round is the matt black version of a design Kartell also make in polished chrome as the Kore range and brushed brass as Ottone. In black it pairs particularly well with a Krittal or Nero black-framed bath screen.
