Kartell K-VIT Pure Bath Shower Mixer Chrome (TAP051PR)

The Kartell K-VIT Pure range is the properly square one — a flat rectangular spout and a square body, with none of the softening you get on Kolt. This is the bath shower mixer: a deck-mounted bath tap with a diverter and a shower handset on a flexible hose.

What it does

It fills the bath like a normal bath filler, and the diverter sends water to the handset instead — so you can shower over the bath, rinse hair, or clean the bath without a separate shower installation.

If you already have a separate shower and only need to fill the bath, the Pure bath filler costs less and keeps the line cleaner — which matters more on a sharp-edged range like this, where a coiled hose is visually at odds with the styling.

It's a heavy fitting

At 3.72kg this is one of the heaviest taps in the Kartell brassware range — solid brass rather than thin castings. Worth checking your bath rim can take it, particularly on a thin acrylic bath without a reinforcing plate.

Before you order

Bath taps use 3/4" BSP connections, larger than the 1/2" on basin taps, so check your existing tails.

The waste is sold separately — and on this range a square-profile bath waste will look right where a round one won't.

Suitable for low pressure systems. Being straight: on gravity-fed plumbing the handset will be a gentle spray rather than a powerful shower. That's your water pressure, not the tap. If you want a proper shower over the bath, you need a pump.

Living with it

The ceramic disc cartridge with quarter-turn operation is far less prone to dripping than a washer tap. Square profiles give limescale more corners to sit in, so a regular wipe keeps it sharp in a hard water area.
