Kartell K-VIT Verve Mono Basin Mixer Chrome (TAP260VE)

The Kartell K-VIT Verve range is slim, round and understated — a narrow cylindrical body with a single lever, in polished chrome. It's the range for a bathroom where you want the taps to sit quietly rather than draw the eye.

This is the mono basin mixer, and it comes complete with a clicker waste.

Verve or Mirage?

Worth addressing, because these two ranges are very close. Both are slim round chrome single-lever designs, and the weights are identical — 0.77kg on the basin mixer, 2.4kg on both bath taps. The differences come down to the shape of the spout and the lever, which is a matter of taste rather than function.

The practical points: Verve has no mini basin mixer in our current range and Mirage does, so for a small cloakroom basin Mirage gives you the option. Otherwise pick on looks — you're not choosing between better and worse.

Water pressure

Suitable for low pressure systems, so it works on gravity-fed plumbing — a tank in the loft and a hot cylinder — as well as combi and mains pressure.

Living with it

The ceramic disc cartridge with quarter-turn operation gives full flow from a small movement of the lever, and is far less prone to dripping than a washer tap.

At 0.77kg this is one of the lighter basin mixers Kartell make — less substantial in the hand than a range like Klassique at more than double the weight, though the mechanism is the same throughout. What you get is a slim profile that suits a smaller basin without crowding it.

Polished chrome on a plain round body is the easiest combination to keep clean — no corners for limescale to collect in.
