Kartell K-VIT Viktory Mono Basin Mixer Chrome (TAP090VI)

The Kartell K-VIT Viktory range is traditional styling at the affordable end — crosshead handles on a simple rounded body, in polished chrome. It covers the same ground as Klassique but costs noticeably less, which makes it the sensible pick for a period-style bathroom on a budget, or a rental where the look matters but the spend can't run away.

This is the mono basin mixer, and it comes complete with a click waste.

Viktory or Klassique?

Both are crosshead traditional ranges in chrome, and they look similar in a photograph. The differences that matter:

• Viktory is lighter — 1.85kg against Klassique's 1.65kg on the basin mixer, but far lighter on the bath taps, where Klassique's bath shower mixer is 4.02kg against Viktory's 2.33kg. More brass generally means a more substantial feel in the hand.
• Viktory costs less, meaningfully so across the range.

If you're fitting a whole traditional bathroom and want it to feel weighty, Klassique is worth the difference. If you want the look at the best price, Viktory does the job.

Traditional look, modern mechanism

Quarter-turn ceramic disc valves rather than washers. Traditional crosshead taps were the classic dripper, needing a new washer every couple of years — ceramic discs don't perish, so you get the period appearance without the period maintenance.

Two handles means setting hot and cold separately: slower than a single lever, but finer control. Some prefer it; others find it fiddly with wet hands.

Water pressure

Suitable for low pressure systems, so it works on gravity-fed plumbing as well as combi and mains — useful, since the older properties this style suits are often the ones on low pressure.
