Sold by the box – 3 tiles per box, covering around 1.50m². Each 500x1000mm tile is 0.5m², so a box works out at roughly £61.60 per m² (£30.80 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

Warm sand is the quieter of the two Mendocino colours. The woven textile print runs across each 500x1000mm porcelain tile in a soft beige, like an aged linen or jute, and the matt finish lets the weave show as texture rather than shine. It suits a stripped-back, utilitarian interior.

On a floor it gives a room the warmth of a natural fibre rug with none of the upkeep, and on a wall it makes a calm backdrop in a bathroom or living space. Three tiles per box cover 1.5m², so large areas go down quickly with few joints.

Porcelain, rated for walls and floors indoors, in bathrooms, kitchens, conservatories, hallways and living rooms. Pair it with the faded blue version from the same range for a sand floor with a blue feature wall.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.50 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Use a flexible cementitious adhesive on both the base and the back of the tile, on a flat substrate, with a levelling system to keep the 1000mm edges flush. Keep joints at 2 to 3mm, limit brick-bond offsets to a third and grout with a flexible grout in a sand tone so the weave runs across the joints.
