Description

Multipanel Pure Alpine White Bathroom Wall Panel – Matt (All Sizes)

Multipanel Pure Alpine White (decor MP1100) is a clean, plain bright white in a soft matt finish. It is a plain, matt-finish waterproof wall panel from the Multipanel Pure Collection, made in Britain by Grant Westfield – a grout-free, low-maintenance alternative to tiling for showers, bathrooms and wet rooms.

Key features

  • 100% waterproof panel on an exterior grade MDF core – suitable for showers, bathrooms and wet rooms
  • No grout lines – nothing to discolour or go mouldy, just wipe clean
  • Hydrolock tongue and groove joint for a discreet, watertight join between panels
  • Can be fitted over existing sound tiles, saving the mess of removing them
  • Soft matt finish, 11mm thick, in 2400mm or 2700mm heights
  • 30-year Multipanel warranty when fitted, sealed and maintained to Multipanel's published guidelines
  • Made in Britain, FSC® certified materials (C128180), 100% recyclable

Hydrolock or Unlipped – which do I need?

Hydrolock panels have a tongue and groove edge that locks one panel into the next, giving a near-invisible joint without a joining strip. Choose Hydrolock when you are covering a wall wider than one panel. Unlipped panels have plain square edges. They are used where a panel stands alone, or where panels are joined with a Type D joint profile or meet at corners with Type A or B corner profiles. Most bathrooms use Hydrolock panels with profiles only at the corners and open ends. Unlipped panels come in the 1200mm width only.

Choosing a size

  • 1200mm wide – the most economical way to cover a large wall, with the fewest joins. Once joined, a Hydrolock 1200mm panel covers about 1182mm of wall width.
  • 598mm wide – easier to handle in small rooms and stairwells, and useful for narrow walls, alcoves and making up the last section of a run (Hydrolock only).
  • 2400mm tall – suits most bathrooms and covers floor to ceiling in a standard room, or from the top of the bath or shower tray in taller rooms.
  • 2700mm tall – for higher ceilings, so you can go floor to ceiling without a join or a top trim.

How to work out how many panels you need

Measure the width of each wall you want to cover and add them together, then divide by the panel width and round up. For example, a shower with a 900mm back wall and a 1200mm side wall needs two 1200mm panels, with one cut down to fit the 900mm wall. Measure your ceiling height to choose between 2400mm and 2700mm. If the wall is taller than the panel, finish the top edge with a Type C end cap. Allow a little extra if a wall has a window or boxing to cut around.

Pairing ideas

Every Pure decor is also made as a tile-effect panel in the Multipanel Tile Collection, so you can fit a tiled-look shower wall and plain panels in the same Alpine White elsewhere in the room. Plain colours also pair well with the marble and mineral decors in the Pure range.

Fitting

  • Fix with Multipanel High Grab Panel Adhesive & Sealant – this is required for the warranty
  • Seal every edge and every joint with silicone sealant, including Hydrolock joints, for a fully watertight finish
  • Finish corners and open ends with Multipanel profiles: Type A for internal corners, Type B for external corners, Type C end caps for open edges, and Type 102 angle profile as an alternative trim
  • Store panels flat (not on edge) and leave them in the room at normal temperature for 48 hours before fitting
  • Multipanel recommend panels are fitted by a professional installer

Common reasons for returns

  • Ordering Unlipped when Hydrolock was needed (or the other way round) – check how the panels will join before ordering
  • Ordering the wrong height – measure your ceiling before choosing 2400mm or 2700mm
  • Not allowing for profiles, adhesive and sealant – these are sold separately
  • Panels damaged by being stored on edge or in a cold garage – store flat, indoors

Care

Clean with warm water and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Do not use scouring powders or abrasive pads.
