A cream limestone-effect porcelain with soft beige tones and faint fossil and veining details running through the surface. The look is based on pale French limestone, and the matt finish keeps it calm and natural. It suits a bathroom that is meant to feel like a spa.

The 600x600mm square comes seven to a box, covering 2.52m², so a single box goes a long way on a bathroom floor. Lay it in a straight grid to let the stone pattern do the work, and mix tiles from several boxes so the veining is spread evenly.

Being porcelain, the tile is hard-wearing and does not need sealing the way real limestone does. The manufacturer lists it for both walls and floors. It is listed as suitable for hallway, living area, conservatory, kitchen and bathroom use.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 2.52 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Mix tiles from at least three boxes as you lay so the fossil and veining details are spread across the floor rather than grouped. A flexible cementitious adhesive with a full bed is right for floors. A 2-3mm joint with a cream or beige grout keeps the stone look continuous. Check the base is flat before you start.
