Wilmington Black Plain Matt Porcelain Wall & Floor Tile 600x600mm (Per Box of 3 Tiles)

Sold by the box – 3 tiles per box, covering around 1.08m². Each 600x600mm tile is 0.36m², so a box works out at roughly £46.02 per m² (£16.57 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

Black porcelain in a natural matt finish. Without a sheen the black looks soft and deep, and it does not show water marks or fingerprints the way a polished black does. In a 600x600mm square it makes a strong, plain floor.

A box contains three tiles and covers 1.08m². Lay it in a straight grid; the rectified edge allows 2-3mm joints and a black grout so the floor is one unbroken dark surface. Matt black hides footprints and dust far better than the polished black in the same range.

Full-bodied porcelain stoneware, black through the body. The manufacturer's suitability list covers bathrooms, kitchens, conservatories, hallways and living areas, and the range is specified for commercial fit-outs as well as homes. Cut edges and chips stay black, so exposed edges and steps look right.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.08 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Bed on a flexible porcelain adhesive with a full bed and a flat base. Use a black grout at 2-3mm and wash it off the matt face before it dries, as grout haze is obvious on black. Set out from the centre and mix tiles from different boxes.
