Sold by the box – 3 tiles per box, covering around 1.08m². Each 600x600mm tile is 0.36m², so a box works out at roughly £46.02 per m² (£16.57 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

Carbon grey in a natural matt finish, a deep charcoal without sheen. On a 600x600mm floor it gives a dark, calm base that hides marks and does not reflect. It suits a kitchen or hallway as well as a bathroom.

Each box of three covers 1.08m². The square lays in a straight grid with 2-3mm joints from the rectified edge. A charcoal grout keeps the floor as one dark surface. The matt surface does not need polishing and hides footprints better than the polished carbon.

As full-bodied porcelain stoneware, the carbon colour goes right through the tile. The manufacturer lists it for walls and floors in bathrooms, kitchens, conservatories, hallways and living areas, and for commercial as well as residential use.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.08 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Use a flexible porcelain adhesive on a full solid bed, back-buttered. Grout at 2-3mm in a dark grey and wipe the matt face clean before it dries. Check the base for flatness and mix tiles from several boxes across the floor.
