Sold by the box – 3 tiles per box, covering around 1.08m². Each 600x600mm tile is 0.36m², so a box works out at roughly £52.22 per m² (£18.80 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

Carbon grey in a polished finish, a deep charcoal with a reflective face. On a 600x600mm floor it gives a dark, glossy surface that makes a hallway or living room feel wider. The colour is a step softer than black.

A box holds three tiles and covers 1.08m². The square format lays in a straight grid with 2-3mm joints thanks to the rectified edge, so the floor reads as a continuous dark plane rather than a pattern of squares.

Full-bodied porcelain stoneware, so the carbon colour is consistent through the tile. The manufacturer rates it for walls and floors in bathrooms, kitchens, conservatories, hallways and living areas, and for commercial use. The polished face hides nothing, so this is a tile for a room that is kept clean rather than a busy back door.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.08 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Polished dark tiles show smears, scratches and lippage, so start with a flat substrate and use a levelling system. Bed each tile fully on a flexible porcelain adhesive, back-buttered. Use a dark grout at 2-3mm and clean the face before grout or adhesive dries.
