For a bathroom floor that needs to look clean without showing every footprint, this mid grey matt is a sensible pick. The tone is even and neutral, and the natural surface has no reflection to catch water marks.

A 300x600mm tile lays quickly and cuts easily around a toilet or basin pedestal. Five per box, covering 0.9m². Lay it in a brick bond across the room or stack it vertically on a shower wall to add height.

The porcelain is full-bodied with rectified edges, so cut edges match the face and joints stay narrow. The manufacturer lists it for walls and floors in bathrooms, kitchens, conservatories, hallways and living areas, in residential and commercial settings.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 0.90 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Lay it on a flexible porcelain adhesive with a solid bed under floor tiles. Rectified edges take a 2-3mm joint; a grey grout close to the tile colour makes the joints disappear. Set out so the cuts at the edges of the room are no less than half a tile. Wipe adhesive off the face before it sets.
