The Kartell K-VIT Ottone range is slim, round and minimal in brushed brass — cylindrical bodies, thin stick levers and no ornamentation. Kartell describe brushed brass as "the latest luxe style to take the interior design spotlight", and it is the warmest of the finishes they offer: a soft matt gold rather than a bright polished one.

This is the wall mounted bath spout — a plain outlet that fixes to the wall above the bath and delivers water into it.

It's a spout, not a tap

Worth being clear, because this is the commonest mistake with this product: it has no handles and no valve. It is the outlet only. The water is controlled elsewhere — normally by a concealed thermostatic or manual valve set into the wall, which feeds the spout and often a shower head as well. Kartell's own listing flags this as "valve not included".

If you want a wall-mounted tap you can turn on and off at the bath, this isn't it. You need a spout plus a valve, and they are bought separately.

Before you order

The pipework runs inside the wall, so the position and height need fixing before boarding and tiling. Set it high enough to clear the bath rim comfortably and far enough in that water lands well inside the bath — a spout set too close to the edge will run down the outside. A stud wall needs noggins to fix into; a solid wall needs chasing.

Water pressure

Kartell don't give this spout a pressure rating, and it doesn't need one — it has no valve in it. What governs the flow is the shower or bath valve you pair it with, so check the rating on that instead.

Brushed brass is a coated finish, not solid metal, and the brushed texture is more forgiving of water spots than polished chrome — marks tend to disappear into the grain rather than sit on the surface. What it will not tolerate is abrasives: never use a cream cleaner, a scouring pad or a limescale remover on it, because those cut through the coating and the brass tone underneath cannot be restored. A wipe with a soft damp cloth is all it needs.
