The Kartell K-VIT Kolt shower range matches the Kolt brassware — a squared-off body with softly rounded edges. This is the slide rail kit in brushed brass: a wall-mounted rail with a handset that slides up and down, and the hose that feeds it.

Why a slide rail

The handset height adjusts for different people, it lifts off for rinsing and cleaning the enclosure, and it copes far better than an overhead drencher at low water pressure. In a family bathroom it's usually the most useful outlet you can fit.

What it connects to

With a bar shower, the hose screws straight onto the bar valve's outlet, so nothing else is needed. Pair it with the Kolt thermostatic bar shower for a complete surface-mounted shower.

With a concealed valve, the water has to be brought out of the wall, so you'll also need a brushed brass round outlet elbow, fed from the Kolt concealed valve.

Why brushed brass

Warm and premium, and more forgiving than chrome day to day — the brushed surface hides water spotting and limescale better than a mirror finish. It works best as a coordinated scheme with the rest of the brass Kolt pieces.

Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth; avoid abrasives and limescale remover.
