Kartell K-VIT Bath Overflow Filling Valve with Combined Waste – Chrome (WAS100)

A bath overflow filler fills the bath through the overflow rather than from a tap on the rim. The water comes in at the end of the bath through what looks like a large overflow cover.

When you need one

This is the answer for a bath with no tap holes: a freestanding bath, a bath with wall-mounted or floor-standing taps, or any installation where you want nothing sitting on the rim.

It is also the tidiest way to fill a bath, full stop — nothing to clean around, nothing to knock, and the whole rim left clear.

This is the complete version: filler, combined waste and an integrated control valve on the overflow, so the one fitting does everything. You control the flow at the bath itself.

Which of the two you need

This one needs no separate valve — the control is built in, and it is the simpler installation.

The other version is the filler and waste only, and needs a separate valve elsewhere (typically a concealed or deck-mounted one). It costs less, but you have to buy and site the valve.

At £187 RRP this is the most expensive single item in the wastes range — but it replaces the bath taps entirely, so compare it against a tap plus a waste rather than against a waste on its own.

Before you order

This wants planning before the bath goes in. The supply pipework runs to the overflow end of the bath, so decide on it early rather than after the bath is boxed in.

Finish and looking after it

Polished chrome needs nothing more than a wipe with a soft damp cloth. Keep abrasive cleaners and strong limescale removers away from it — both cut through the plating.
