Kartell K-VIT G4K Pair of Basin Taps – Chrome (TAP114G4K)

Kartell K-VIT G4K Pair of Basin Taps – Chrome (TAP114G4K)

The Kartell K-VIT G4K range is the budget end of the Kartell brassware line — plain, chrome, and priced for a rental, a second bathroom, or a job where the taps need to work rather than impress. Kartell call it “reliable and highly functional… whilst keeping under budget”, which is a fair description.

This is a pair of 1/2" basin taps: two separate taps, one hot and one cold.

Pillar taps or a mixer?

Pillar taps are the two-tap arrangement — no mixing, hot from one and cold from the other.

Choose them where the basin has two tap holes, which is common on older basins and on some cloakroom and pedestal designs. If your basin has a single central hole you need the G4K mono basin mixer instead — and that one includes a waste, which this pair does not.

The honest trade-off: you cannot set a temperature. It is hot or cold or a hand under each. Where pillar taps genuinely win is on a two-hole basin you are not replacing — fitting a mixer would mean a new basin.

What you are getting for the money

Being straight about it: this is a simple tap. There is no design story and no clever spout. What it does have, which cheaper supermarket taps often do not:

• Solid brass body, not zinc alloy or plastic — the thing that determines whether a tap survives a decade
• Ceramic disc cartridge, so it should not drip the way a washer tap eventually will
• Lifetime guarantee on the body, 1 year on moving parts — unusual at this price

Before you order

Check your basin has two tap holes at standard centres, and that you have space either side of the bowl.

The waste is sold separately.

Water pressure

G4K is suitable for low pressure systems, so it works on gravity-fed plumbing as well as combi and mains pressure.

The rest of the G4K range

There is a matching pair of 3/4" bath taps, plus a bath filler, a wider deck bath filler and a bath shower mixer.
