The Kartell K-VIT Ottone range is the brushed brass collection. This is the fixed overhead drencher — a rainfall shower head on a wall-mounted arm.

Solid brass, not plated plastic

Worth drawing out, because it's the main difference between this and cheaper drenchers. The Ottone head and arm are solid brass. Kartell's Kolt equivalent is 304 stainless and ABS, which is normal at that price — but brass gives more weight, a better finish and a 5 year guarantee where the Kolt head gets 1.

That's a large part of what you're paying for.

It's an outlet, not a control

You need a shower valve to feed it. Pair it with the Ottone single outlet valve if the drencher is all you want, or the valve with diverter if you also want a handset.

Be honest about your pressure

A rainfall head relies on pressure to feel good — it delivers a wide, soft spray rather than a forceful jet. On a combi or mains supply that's luxurious. On gravity-fed plumbing at the 0.2 bar minimum it will feel like standing in drizzle.

If your pressure is low and the drencher is the reason you're buying, budget for a pump. A handset on a slide rail is the better choice at low pressure.

Positioning

Wall-mounted, so it needs a solid fixing at the right height, and the head wants to sit roughly over the middle of the enclosure rather than tight to the back wall.

Living with brushed brass

The brushed surface hides water spotting and limescale better than a mirror finish, which helps on a head that's permanently wet. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth; avoid abrasives and limescale remover.
