Description
Description
An offset quadrant gives you the curved front of a quadrant tray but with one side longer than the other, so it fits a corner where the two walls aren't the same length. This is the Kartell K-VIT Unity anti-slip version — the same British-made stone resin tray as the standard Unity offset quadrant, but with a textured surface moulded into the tray floor giving it a Class C slip rating to DIN 51097, the highest of the three barefoot-wet classifications. Like the standard range it sits just 45mm off the floor, so you get the safer surface without giving up the low, near level-access step.
Who it's for
Class C matters most where a fall would be serious or the shower gets heavy use: bathrooms adapted for an elderly or less mobile user, wet rooms in care and supported housing, holiday lets and student accommodation, gyms and clubhouses. The offset shape earns its place where a bath has come out and left a long run of wall — you get the length for a comfortable, assisted shower while the curved front keeps the floor open for turning.
The surface is textured rather than coated, so it can't wear off or peel the way an applied anti-slip finish eventually does. It does hold onto soap scum a little more than a smooth tray, so give it a regular wipe with a non-abrasive cleaner.
Left hand or right hand — getting it right
Offset quadrants are handed, and the two are not interchangeable. Getting it wrong means a return, and a stone resin tray is an expensive and awkward thing to send back, so it's worth taking a minute over.
Stand in the room facing the shower corner. If the longer side of the tray runs away to your left, you need left hand. If it runs to your right, you need right hand.
If you're replacing an existing offset quadrant, stand facing the old one and see which way the long side runs — don't rely on the code printed on the old tray, as different manufacturers describe handing differently.
What it's made of
Moulded from acrylic-capped stone resin and double skinned. The stone resin core gives the tray its rigidity — it won't creak or flex underfoot the way a thin acrylic tray can — while the ABS acrylic cap gives a hard, non-porous surface. Made in Britain and covered by Kartell's 25 year guarantee.
Choosing your size
In the table below the first figure is the long wall and the second is the short wall, so measure both at floor level. Offset quadrant trays need a matching offset quadrant enclosure in the same size and the same hand — a standard quadrant enclosure won't follow the curve. If both your walls are the same length, you want a standard quadrant tray instead.

You'll need a waste
Unity trays are supplied without a waste, and an ordinary shower waste will not fit — the outlet takes a 90mm fast flow waste. Add one from the dropdown above in chrome (FFW90), matt black, brushed brass or white, or choose "Without a waste" if you're reusing one.
Fitting it
On a solid floor the trap needs to sit below floor level, so the pipework usually has to be chased in. Where that isn't practical — a timber floor, an upstairs bathroom, or a concrete slab you'd rather not cut — the Unity offset quadrant riser kit (UNP1290Q100) lifts the tray onto a 90mm plinth with a gloss white front panel shaped to the curve. The legs adjust between 90 and 120mm. Riser kits carry a 1 year guarantee rather than the 25 years on the tray.
Bear in mind that raising the tray reintroduces a step, which rather works against the point if you've chosen anti-slip for accessibility reasons. Where step-free access is the priority, it's worth the extra work to drop the waste below the floor.
Stone resin is heavy — treat these as a two-person lift.
