The Pressalit PLUS straight handrail is a strong, comfortable 33 mm grab rail for accessible bathrooms, Changing Places toilets, care homes, hospitals and schools. Fixed horizontally, vertically or at an angle, it gives secure support for people walking or standing in the bathroom and a firm point to hold when rising from a seat or toilet.

It comes in five lengths – 300, 450, 600, 800 and 1000 mm – and four colours, and it is part of the wider PLUS handrail range, so straight rails can be combined with PLUS angled and corner handrails across the room.

Buying guide

Which length? Short 300 and 450 mm rails suit vertical fixing beside a door or basin; 600 and 800 mm rails suit beside a toilet or bath; the 1000 mm rail gives a long horizontal hand-hold along a wall or in a shower. The 1000 mm rail can also carry the PLUS shower head holder (RT600) to double as a shower rail.

Which colour? Choose a colour that contrasts with the wall – Red or Dark Blue on light walls, White on darker finishes – so the rail is easy to see.

Are the wall fixings included?

No – Pressalit supplies the mounting kit separately so the fixings can be matched to your wall (brick, concrete, plasterboard and so on). Call us on 0333 772 4162 and we will help you choose.

Can I fit the rail vertically?

Yes – PLUS straight handrails can be fixed horizontally or vertically to suit the layout of the room.

Can a shower head be mounted on it?

Pressalit's PLUS shower head holder (RT600) is designed for the 1000 mm rail (RT104) as well as the angled 400 x 900 mm and shower combination rails.

How should the rail be cleaned?

Use hot water or a mild soapy cleaner and wipe with a soft cloth wrung out in clean water. Avoid chlorine-based, corrosive or abrasive cleaners.
