Kartell K-VIT Times Bath Shower Mixer (TAP082TI)

The Kartell K-VIT Times range is traditional in spirit but not fussy — crosshead handles marked hot and cold, in polished chrome. This is the bath shower mixer: a deck-mounted bath tap with a diverter and a shower handset on a flexible hose.

What it does

It fills the bath like a normal bath filler, and the diverter sends water to the handset instead — so you can shower over the bath, rinse hair, or clean the bath itself without a separate shower installation.

If you already have a separate shower and only need to fill the bath, the Times bath filler costs less and looks tidier without the hose — which matters on a traditional tap, where a modern-looking hose can undercut the period feel.

Before you order

Bath taps use 3/4" BSP connections, larger than the 1/2" on basin taps, so check your existing tails.

The waste is sold separately. A bath needs a waste and overflow set, which isn't included.

Suitable for low pressure systems. Being straight about what that means: on gravity-fed plumbing the tap works, but the handset will be a gentle spray rather than a powerful one. That's your water pressure, not the tap — and it's worth knowing, because the older properties this style suits are often exactly the ones on low pressure. If you want a proper shower over the bath, you need a pump.

Living with it

The ceramic disc cartridge with quarter-turn operation gives the period look without the period maintenance — far less chance of a drip than a traditional washer tap.
